James Schelkle, Architect and Sean McMurray of Studio JS2 have recently completed new, innovative and vastly improved site plans for the New York City segment of the 2009 Avon Walk For Breast Cancer.
As a New York City based architectural firm, with vast experience in the often vexing New York City approval and permitting proces, Studio JS2 was avidly recruited by Avon to draw up the site plans and obtain permits for the 2009 Breast Cancer walk NYC segment. All work was done pro bono by Mr. Schelkle's full service architectural firm, Studio JS2.
James Schelkle, Principal Architect of the firm, stated "Studio JS2 has a long standing commitment to giving back to both the city and people of New York. When Avon inquired if we were available to help out with the architectural needs of the 2009 Walk I jumped at the opportunity to help."
According ro Sean McMurray, architectural intern and Project Manager of the site design for the 2009 Walk, "Cancer impacts the lives of us all, and it is important that we all do what we can to help fight this terrible disease. To help the Walk and those fighting breast cancer is simply the right thing to do."
The walk is scheduled for October 10th-11th, 2009. Festivities begin on October 10th at pier 84 in Manhattan. After a long day walking participants can visit the wellness village and spend the night camping in famous Randall's Island Park. More walking is scheduled for October 11th as well.
